Instant Geysers Vs Storage Geysers

Geysers are a must during winter season. They provide hot water within no time. What are Instant Geysers?

Instant geysers are geysers which heat water in seconds. It can heat about 1-10 liters of water instantly. it heats water when the tap is on and stops its work when the tap is turned off.

Advantages;

1. Saves Time- instant geysers are the perfect fit for the people who usually run late and who do not like to wait. They are efficient in heating water for one person’s bath.

2. Less Space- instant geysers are compact and do not use much space. They can easily fit on any wall and do not cause much obstruction unlike storage geysers.

3. Cost Benefit- Even though water heaters are of about 3 to 4.5 kW, they heat little water and do not waste energy by operating for a longer period. This makes them cheaper than storage water heaters.

4. No Heat Loss-Instant water heaters heat only when the tap is on, therefore it does heat more water than what is required. This prevents any heat loss.

Disadvantages:

1. Water Flow-Instant water heaters require a particular speed of water flow to work. If it does not match the range, it may not heat the water as desired. If the flow is less, then it may lead to steam and even explosion and if the rate is high then it may not be able to heat the water and give cold water

2. Limited Water Supply-Instant heaters do not provide more than 10 L of hot water in one go. If your consumption is more than that, you may have to use cold water after certain time.

3. Price- Instant geysers are expensive when it comes to its buying cost. They are costlier than storage geysers in terms of buying cost. But on the bright side their electricity consumption is less than storage geysers.

4. Maintenance- sometimes due to hard water, maintenance cost of instant geysers goes up. It becomes frustrating after some point of time as lots of money may be used in this.

What Are Storage Geysers?

Storage geysers are geysers that have a huge water capacity commonly upto 50L. They requires some time to heat water and heats to its whole capacity.

Advantages-

1. Inexpensive- Storage water heaters are cheaper when compared to instant water heaters. They have less buying cost and one can easily get one in around 2 thousand.

2. More Storage- the storage capacity of this type of geyser is way more than instant geysers. They can store around 35 L. therefore, if you have high consumption needs then this is the perfect fit for you.

3. Easy Installation- you do not have to spend a lot of money to install a storage geyser. They are easy to install.

Disadvantages-

1. Takes Up a Lot Of Space- storage geysers take up a lot of space and may cause disturbance. This is due to their huge size and capacity. They may look shabby when old and may not be a good sight.

2. Takes Up More Energy- storage geysers have a low price but their utility cost is way more than instant geysers as they take a lot of time to heat the water. Even if you do not want the batch, it will heat to its full capacity.

3. Heat Loss- water once heated do not remain hot for a long period of time. It gets cold after sometime and one has to heat it all over again.
