Graves, his first release on Syrinx Music, showcases the most striking elements of his productions: a forward-thinking approach to club music and a willingness to hybridize styles such as footwork, breaks, techno & various forms of bass music.
On each of Graves’ seven tracks, this translates into real drum freedom, with patterns recomposing & shifting without notice, loops repeating hypnotically or erratically, creating a sense of urgency, unpredictability & beauty. Rather than club tools, Graves seems to contain club objects, designed within a club music framework, but considered for their unique aesthetics rather than their efficiency.
