XR1S is the alias of Lima-born electronic artist, DJ, and producer Cristhian Alexander Olarte Orcon. After growing up surrounded by chicha, reggaeton, and salsa, his practice evolved through electronic and experimental music following his move to Buenos Aires, where he studied Electronic Music and began performing live and DJ sets.
Cenizas was developed over the last four years of his time in Buenos Aires. The album blends bass-driven forms, noise, breaks, and electric textures, drawing inspiration from anime soundtracks and club-rooted genres while remaining exploratory in spirit.
Conceived across Buenos Aires and moving toward Lima, Cenizas marks the first phase of a longer arc—an album shaped by time, relocation, and the act of burning away what once held form.
