Let’s get Vocal: Raiders Records is finally back with another compilation and this time it’s all about voices! In astrology and Roman mythology, Mercury is the messenger. This compilation takes the interpretation that singers and MC’s are the messengers of our community. In that vein we united nine amazing artists/friends on six fantastic songs, all of which use unique vocals instead of samples to create something truly fresh. If Mercury is the messenger then Berlin is the medium, as this distinctly international group are nonetheless all deeply embedded in this city’s club scene. Lovingly curated by jpeg.love, this extraplanetary outing spans myriad styles. From spaced-out electro by raiders mainstay $ombi to breaks-laden melodic madness courtesy of L V J. From Soyklō’s unique Pop-driven DnB to JCow and NAS TEA’s sizzling hot, acidic, “(So) Divine”. Or “Caught Up”: the instantly catchy Club Music-esque anthem of Neana and Eddington Again, which wouldn’t be out of place on the billboard charts. Last but not least there’s jpeg themselves, in a dream team-up with global phenomenon DJ Fuckoff, for some DIY punk that speaks the language of fat bass & even fatter breaks. This release is dedicated to the many, mostly BIPOC femme artists within the electronic music scene that have never been credited or paid for giving a dancefloor track its character and soul.
