“Softer hands” introduces a reality where art-electronics emerge from familiar club language. Sentimental melodies spray delicate feelings over metallic, hypnotising backgrounds. Distant, angelic choirs are softly moulded and shaped by whirring mechanical sounds, hisses and swooshes. Over time, the music leads inward, letting light through densely packed soundscapes. The result is touching, otherworldly, at times uncanny or post-apocalyptic, like an ensemble of machines learning to feel. The circle of three remixers perfectly understands the language cratje operates in, adding to the universe created within four original tracks.
