PREMIERE 'triumph' Daysailer

Listen to "triumph" by Daysailer taken from "Model Tobacco" out on October 8th via xenonyms

On Model Tobacco, his latest album for Barcelona’s coveted xenonyms, Daysailer delivers his most vividly imaginative, catchy, and sonically ambitious release yet. Sometimes muted and opaque, sometimes blatantly hyperbolic, the record shows just how much ground the musician covers without meaning to. It also holds its own, thanks to the artist’s musicianship.

The now South Carolina-based singer, songwriter, and producer Charles Peck makes a bold statement: he has nothing to prove. He experiments and makes light of often dark, twisted themes. The songs are not meant to soothe. They have depth and emotion worth digesting mentally.

These are not for the club, nor even after the club. The listener decides when and where to put this one on, be it in times of distress or celebration. The work speaks to both the artist’s growth as a songwriter and his growth as a human being. It’s a clear step forward for one of the most prolific electronic artists of the past decade.
