Premiering 'Xalasix' by Dogx taken from "The X" out on 29th May via Earflux
Dogx is an alter ego entity from Yogyakarta, a metalhead who used to be a death metal drummer back in 2009. As per now, he’s working as a visual artist, and ghost producer. While broadening his encyclopedia of sounds, he has a perspective on life that is contrary to what should be within normal limits. He is a shadow that eats all human sins, chews them, drinks them, licks them, and vomits them out in the form of sound frequencies because for him sound is something that can coexist with the human subconscious or conscious mind.
'The X' was born to bring taboos to light through sound so we can think and feel to control them before they become something we do in real life and hurt someone. Destruction leads to a very rough road but it also breeds creation if we learn about it. But nowadays condition, death may be the final frontier but it is set in hypocritical boxes.
'X' can stand for false, restricted, wrong, or bad, but in math, it stands for multiple. Those roles are connected by how good the 'x' is fabricated according to our perspectives, we have seen the good and the bad of this society, depending on our viewpoint, right or wrong.
Dogx manages to translate this mundane insanity into five heavy neck-breaker tracks that mash gabber, club-ready, drum ’n’ bass, with a hint of traditional instruments. From the vicious hard drum combined with satanic chants 'Xalasix' and the gabberish club slompret (traditional trumpet) 'Xalera', to the uptempo riddim breaks 'Xin' that builds more tension to 'Xolophob' that bring fast-paced breaks and pounding bass, while 'Xoxox' give some downtempo rhythms layered with a tormented howl for the terrific closing. Dogx perfectly pours his personal feelings, perspective, and phobia through this album theme.
