Spotify bought Locker Room, a competitor to Clubhouse

As a result of the takeover, musicians, songwriters, podcasters, and others will be able to hold discussions and interact with fans on Spotify

Spotify announced the acquisition of Locker Room app developer Betty Labs. The app's audio chats allow users to discuss sports in real time.
Cost and other terms of the deal were not disclosed. Spotify officials said they plan to refine Locker Room's features for a wider range of users. Through the purchase, Spotify will introduce sports, music and cultural programming and allow creators to connect with audiences, the company said.
Gustav Cederstrom, Spotify's head of research and development, added that artists and fans have been asking for live performance formats on Spotify, and thanks to the deal, the feature will soon be available on the platform.
Other major companies, such as Facebook and Twitter, are already developing Clubhouse analogues.
