Materials used to blend concrete, bitumen, lime, gypsum or some other adhesive into concrete or mortar are added for building and construction. Aggregates are primary materials deriving from natural sources, including pits and quarries, derived from gravel, crushed stone and sand. They are used for binding materials such as water, cement and asphalt, and as concrete from asphalt and portland concrete. The aggregate provides length, stability, strength and degradation and other physical properties of the finished product.
