How Can You Beat The Post Festival Blues

Man is a social animal, and the festival is a time when the humans come together in flocks and large gathering. It is the time when you get a break for your normal routine life, get to meet with your near and dear ones, getting into a happy festive mood. Be it any festival, all of them gives the people a chance to get into a mood to celebrate, enjoy the moments, and feel the pleasures of festivity with their friends and family. But as soon as the celebration ends, the routine hectic life makes a ruthless comeback, ending all the joys of and happiness of the festivity. Even after festivals are over, some people are not able to overcome the hangover of it, and it leads to post-festival depression.

Post festival depression when you hit a sudden slump of activity after your endorphins and adrenaline drive nose dives after an overzealous social environment that provides you relief from your stress and anxiety. We celebrate not only the festival but also bonding with our partners, love, friendship, and our existence. When this activity ceases after days of festivity, the blues is quite natural to set in. Some people are able to change accordingly to the situation, but some go in a depressive mood. If you also feel depressed after a festival gets over, then here are some ways via which you can cope with it.

Take adequate rest and have a hearty meal
It is important that you rest adequately and have your meals properly as well. It is because you might have indulged in a lot of activities during the festive season like going on a night out with friends, danced on the floor and even run a marathon. With all this activity, you have burnt a considerable amount of calories and also lost ample of energy as well. Thus, when festivals end, it can make your mind and body exhausted and can become a catalyst for depression. So, it is vital that you eat and sleep adequately post festivity to give your body the rest it requires and the energy it needs.

Don’t be idle in the house
End of festivals does not mean that you lock yourself in the house sitting idle. Staying put in your home can induce more depressive thoughts in you and make you feel miserable. Therefore, you should get on your toes and engage in some activity. Wear your hiking shoes again and get going on outdoor exercises like jogging, running or brisk walking. If you have a dog, then take it out on long walks. If you love movies, then a visit to the cinema hall will lighten your mind a bit as well. You can also meet your friends at a café bar or someplace and have a nostalgic discussion on the time you spent during festivals.

Revisit your old hobbies
Your hobbies can be an ally of yours for beating the blues of post-festival depression. If you like music, playing instruments, photography, or any other activity that love, then doing it again will be able to help you to overcome your post-festival blues. They will be able to distract your mind from the thoughts of festivals that has passed and make your plan ahead of doing things in respect to your hobbies.

Plan for your next festival
To get over the hangover of the previous festival, planning for the upcoming festival will be helpful. For instance, if you had a joyous experience during the Dussehra festival, then you can start planning what you will do in Diwali once the previous festival gets over.
