My Binance account was blocked 😥
I am a French citizen, and this morning I was shocked to find my account on the Binance exchange blocked. There was a substantial amount in my account - $20,000.
I immediately reached out to customer support and my personal manager. After a brief investigation, my manager informed me that the reason for the block was "dirty" cryptocurrency that I had deposited into my account the day before.
I was taken aback, not realizing that cryptocurrencies are categorized differently. In fact, I had purchased 5,000 USDT from a seller on a well-known platform (localcoinswap.com). The transaction was swift, and after payment, the seller transferred 5,000 USDT to my Metamask wallet. I then transferred them to Binance for further use.
My Binance personal manager explained that this cryptocurrency had been obtained fraudulently and was marked within the network. I, of course, had no way of knowing this.
He also shared advice on how to verify cryptocurrency before buying from individuals. There is a service , which scans your wallet for "dirty" tokens and suspicious transactions.
We managed to resolve the situation with Binance, albeit with some difficulty, but it's worth noting that this service and its developer team were instrumental in helping us. In my next post, I will detail how we achieved this.
Please keep this service in mind for the future if you have funds on wallets and plan to transfer them to official exchanges. Also, always insist that the seller verifies the cryptocurrency they intend to send you.
Share this post with friends and acquaintances - it will help them safeguard their funds in the future. Perhaps someone among them is currently holding "dirty" stolen money in their wallets.
