JoSAA 2020

The full form of JoSAA is the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The candidates, who qualify the JEE Main and Advanced must make sure that they are updated with all the dates of JoSAA. This is to be noted that the applicants will have to register themselves. The events of JoSAA 2020 will include the steps of Registration, Counselling and Seat Allotment. JoSAA Important Dates 2020

The applicants, who will be attending the counselling of JoSAA must make sure that they are up to date with all the official dates. Kindly note that the authority has declared all the important dates. The same can be found in the points below:


• Release of JEE Main Result - 30th April 2020
• Declaration of JEE Advanced Result - 14th June 2020
• Registration of candidate and choice filling - 16th June 2020
• Display of Mock Seat Allotment 1 - 22nd June 2020
• Display of Mock Seat Allotment 2 - 24th June 2020
• Last date to do registration and choice filling - 25th June 2020
• Release of Result of Round 1 Seat Allocation - 27th June 2020
• Document Verification - 28th June to 2nd July 2020
• Release of Round 2 Seat Allotment - 3rd July 2020
• Document Verification - 4th to 5th July 202

How to Apply for JoSAA? The candidates, who have qualified JEE Main and Advanced will have to apply for JoSAA counselling. One can apply for the same by following the steps mentioned below:

• Open the official website of the concerned authority.
• Click on the link of the registration.
• Login with the help of the mandatory credentials.
• The screen will reflect all the details of the candidate.
• Cross check the same with the registration details.
• In case one finds any kind of incorrect detail, then he/ she must contact the authority immediately.
• Set a new password
• After registering, the screen will reflect the complete list of the participating institutes in JoSAA.
• Chose the institute as per your preference. This is to be noted that the candidate will be provided with the opportunity of rearranging and interchanging choices.
• Post chosing, lock the choices.
• In case one wishes to make any modifications, then he/ she should click on ‘I will lock my choices later’.
• Print the confirmed choices for future purposes.
• Pay the application fee.
• Download the provisional allotment letter.
• Report at the allotted centre.

JoSAA Seat Allotment Result A few days after the last date of the locking of the choices, the result of seat allotment will get released. The procedure of seat allotment is conducted on the basis of the choice of college, course and the number of the vacant seats. The result of the seat allotment will be available on the official website of the authority. In the seat allotment, one will be having the following options:

• Freeze - This option can be used when the candidate is satisfied with the college allotted to him/ her.
• Float - It is used when the applicant is satisfied with the choices allotted to him/ her but wish to participate in the next counselling.
• Slide - When the candidate wishes to get better choices but in the allotted institute.
• Withdraw - If the applicant is dissatisfied with the choices allotted to him/ her and wishes to opt out of the counselling process.
