It became known how much Russia profited from arms sales in 2021

Russia "completely fulfilled the plan" for the delivery of weapons in 2021. The volume of exports amounted to 14.6 billion dollars, Dmitry Shugayev, the head of the Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation, said at the "Army-2022" forum.

"The annual plan has been fully implemented, weapons and military equipment equivalent to 14.6 billion US dollars have been delivered to foreign partners," said Shugayev.

According to the head of the service, over the past ten years, Russia has maintained a level of delivery of 14-15 billion dollars.

Russia exports arms to Syria, Iraq, Egypt, India, China, Algeria and Kazakhstan, according to the Russian Yearbook Armaments, Disarmament and International Security 2020.

In 2017-2021, Russia ranked second in world arms exports with a 19 percent share. The first place belongs to the USA (39 percent), the third place is France (11 percent), the fourth place is China (4.6 percent), and the fifth place belongs to Germany (4.5 percent).
