TikTok Insights review

The UK Prime Minister has joined TikTok. TikTok itself has opened a new Insights tool that allows you to find out analytics from all over the world in one place. We don’t know if this is due to the fact that Boris Johnson is now also present on the social network, but the tool is quite interesting and we have already tested it at KMA.

So what can you see here?

Locations:
The choice of countries is still small, so Insights is unlikely to suit you for a point analysis of Kazakhstan. But you can always click on the “Global” button and look at global trends.

- Global
- Australia
- Brazil
- Canada
- Egypt
- France
- Germany
- Indonesia
- Italy
- Japan
- Malaysia
- Mexico
- Philippines
- Russia
- Saudi Arabia
- Singapore
- Spain
- Thailand
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Vietnam

Audiences:
The audiences here are already set up and they are divided into only 3 categories, you can even say generations:

- Gen Z
- Millennials
- GenX+

Insights:
Here you can divide users according to the principle of working with content:
- Advertising. Advertisers with connected business account.
- Creator. Platform content creators
- People. Ordinary users who spend time scrolling through an endless feed.

Industries:
Here the choice is already larger, but the categories are still as wide as in the previous two.

- Apparel & Accessories
- Beauty & Personal
- CareCleaning & Household
- Education
- Financial
- Services
- Food & Beverage
- Gaming
- Sports & Outdoors
- Tech&Electronics
- Retail
- Telco
- CPG

Holidays and events:
For a Chinese social network, there are quite a lot of national holidays. The choice is quite original, in one row, if you suddenly need it, you can compare Easter Ramadan and the beginning of the Super Bowl.

- Christmas
- Black Friday
- Back to school
- Independence day
- Easter
- Ramadan
- Mother's day
- Father's day
- Halloween
- Superbowl
- Eurocup
- St. Patrick's Day
- Graduation
- Valentine's Day

Years:
So far, only the 2 most eventful years of TikTok's existence are given to choose from, although it appeared on the international market back in September 2016.

- 2020
- 2021

TikTok Insights is pretty addictive stuff. This is rather not an analysis tool, but reporting on observations for 2 selected years. No wonder they collect so much data. Of course, it will not replace the usual analytics with proven resources, but it is still possible to highlight useful information.

Not all GEOs are displayed on charts and diagrams, for example, when reviewing Malaysia, “No results” pops up.

In any case, we will expect the same thing for 2022, especially given the change in TikTok's privacy policy and the locking of some countries' feeds to themselves.
