My year reading a book from every country in the world

The experiment of Kare Anderson has me to think about my year of reading.

I counted the books which I have read last year. So I can say it was a very poor year.

I have read only 10 books. Besides, most of them were detectives written by Agatha Christie or Stephen King. So I was focused on American or British literature.

In my opinion, it is one of the worst years of reading in my life so this experiment is a good example of how I can change my approach of reading.

I have never been a practical reader and never thought about real benefit from reading different kinds of books from different authors who are from different countries. I just bought something new to read for relaxation.

But if I want to spend time reading it should be more important in my life than only for relaxation. I am not a teenager who needs to take time reading belletristic literature.

So, I decided to read the list of books which are popular in different countries using this map:

and start from Svetlana Alexievich CHERNOBYL PRAYER A Chronicle of the Future.

I have chosen this book because:

• This author is new for me ;
• I have never learned this topic in fiction ;
• This book has a very good rating and one of the popular in Belarus;
• I like reading.
