MyTonWallet: Best Wallet in TON Ecosystem

You’re probably already familiar with MyTonWallet. This is the story of how an independent and ambitious project managed to stand out in the TON ecosystem.

The project was born from ideals of true freedom, user respect, and belief in decentralization. A romantic and lofty start, sure — but it couldn’t have happened any other way.

So how did a small team with no major sponsors grow from a modest startup into a wallet with millions of users?

Let’s trace the journey of MyTonWallet — from its origins to the recent release of MyTonWallet Air — and understand why this project deserves to be called the best wallet in TON.

Origins and the Story of Its Founder

MyTonWallet was founded by Alexander Zinchuk — a developer whose journey into IT began early. He wrote his first lines of code at 13, and by 19 he had already joined Yandex.

Later, he became a developer at Telegram, where he witnessed firsthand how even a small team can achieve incredible results when priorities are set right.

Zinchuk took that experience and embedded it into his own project. From the very beginning, the MyTonWallet team focused on minimalism and efficiency: building a powerful and intuitive product with a tight-knit team.

As Zinchuk notes, his product is built on the same principles that brought success to big tech companies — yet it remains independent and community-oriented.

It’s no surprise Zinchuk has drawn attention in the TON space. He is widely respected for delivering a high-quality product since the earliest days of the ecosystem.

Some even say that thanks to his Telegram experience and deep understanding of TON, MyTonWallet enjoys informal support from high-ranking figures in the Telegram world — but that’s a story for another time (though you can probably guess who we’re talking about).

Zinchuk has always been transparent that the project has no outside investors or shareholders dictating decisions — independence is its greatest strength.

A Risky Start

MyTonWallet officially launched in 2022, at a time when the young TON ecosystem already had well-funded players backed by millionaires and big foundations.

This meant competing with giants — teams with huge budgets and extensive resources. Naturally, the odds seemed stacked against them. Even Zinchuk admits that launching under these conditions was risky (to say the least).

But the team had a clear mission, and that gave them courage: betting on independence, speed of development, and focus on the right priorities paid off 100%.

Initially, MyTonWallet launched as a Chrome extension and desktop app. This route mirrors the early days of many crypto wallets — even MetaMask started this way.

By focusing on desktop first, the team quickly gained traction with users interacting with TON via computer. But the real turning point came when they decided to go mobile.

Zinchuk recalls that launching on mobile changed everything — ~95% of today’s user base arrived after that move. The mobile version opened access to a broader audience and set a new standard for convenience and speed.

To accelerate this shift, the team took an unconventional approach: they actively recruited developers from the community through contests. In 2023, open competitions for Android and iOS developers offered up to $25,000 in prizes — and the chance to join the team.

Results were evident by 2024. The mobile apps reached a new level of quality, and the wallet gained a reputation as the fastest-evolving product in TON.

Important note: All of this progress was achieved with zero external funding.

The team didn’t raise investment and wasn’t burdened by obligations to sponsors. This rare independence in the crypto space let them move at their own pace and on their own terms.

Looking back, Zinchuk says he wouldn’t change a single strategic decision.

What Made MyTonWallet So Popular???

From day one, MyTonWallet aimed to outperform competitors through rich functionality and attention to detail. They combined simplicity for newcomers with extra tools for power users.

Even the earliest versions supported more than just basic Toncoin transfers — they handled token management, NFT display, TON DNS services, and more. That functionality has only expanded over time.

In September 2025, MyTonWallet reimagined its mobile experience entirely with the release of MyTonWallet Air — a fully native mobile app that feels tailor-made for your device.

By leveraging system UI elements and optimizing performance, Air launches 40% faster than the regular version and consumes fewer resources.

(I won’t list all of Air’s features here — I’ve already covered that on my channel.)

But trust me on this: better to try it once than hear about it a hundred times.

Together, all of these features made MyTonWallet the most functional and fast-moving wallet in the TON ecosystem. While others were criticized for lagging updates, MyTonWallet trained its users to expect major updates every month.

Frequent releases with new features became the project’s hallmark. People know: if something new and useful appears in TON — it’ll show up in MyTonWallet soon after.

This ongoing progress not only retained the current user base but also attracted new ones who value constant improvement.

Another major benefit is open-source transparency. The team publishes the source code of every version — a rare practice in this space. It’s a guarantee: no hidden trackers, no backdoors, no differences between public and private versions.

The Community Approach

Another key pillar of MyTonWallet’s strategy is deep engagement with the TON community.

The team struck the right tone from the beginning (pun intended): they listened to feedback, welcomed criticism, and involved users directly in product development.

My channel is a great example. If you scroll through past posts about MTV and the comments, you’ll see how many ideas from me and my audience were adopted and implemented by the team.

I remember cases where someone complained about a missing feature — and just days later, the team rolled out an update addressing it. That same person would come back and say something like:

“Thanks — I’ve fully switched to MyTonWallet now.”

These efforts paid off. In November 2024, MyTonWallet had around 3 million active users — by mid-2025, the audience neared 10 million. That’s explosive growth for TON, and much of it came from pure word of mouth.

Why Choose MyTonWallet?

We’ve covered its journey, features, and philosophy. Now let’s answer the big question: Why should the average TON user choose MyTonWallet over other wallets?

This question has followed me for over six months — and now I’ll just send people this article, because here are the key reasons why this wallet is the best choice in TON:

a) Security & Trust

MyTonWallet is audited and trusted.

With open-source code, a successful audit from CertiK (first among TON wallets), regular security checks, and a generous bug bounty program — it’s built for safety.

b) Functionality

MyTonWallet is hands-down the most feature-rich wallet for TON.

It gives you access to all of TON’s possibilities:

— Want the best swap rates? Built-in DEX aggregator.

— Incoming transfer? Instant notification.

— Want to customize the UI? Change the card, background, layout. You name it.

And the product keeps evolving. New features roll out monthly, so it never gets stale.

c) Speed

The devs ensured MyTonWallet runs fast and smooth — no lags or bugs to distract you.

Thanks to the Air release, performance is now 40% better — near-instant launch and ultra-fast responsiveness.

d) Independence

No investors breathing down their necks. No forced monetization.

All decisions are made in the interest of users.

It’s not a top-down product — it grows from the community upward. That matters more than it seems.

This isn’t just about quick replies in DMs — it’s about loyalty and trust.

People feel like MyTonWallet is their wallet — and that’s why it fits the spirit of TON like no other.

I’ve said it all. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
