THE PROCESS: LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS & HOW THEY'RE MADE!

Diamonds are found in the earth’s crust, where they have been formed a billion years ago. In the case of Lab Grown Diamonds, the same natural process is replicated in labs. There are two ways to go about it: HPHT.

CVD stands for Chemical Vapour Deposition and HPHT stands for high pressure high temperature. In the CVD method, a diamond seed is grown by microwave plasma technology in a highly-controlled environment. On the other hand, in the HPHT method a pure, solid carbon source is put under high pressure and high temperature. In the presence of a catalyst, the pressurized and heated carbon is crystallized into a diamond.

Either way, the result is an enigmatic lab grown diamond. At Stone Lab, we use the best of technology to make sure that every lab grown diamond we manufacture is 100% pure and sustainable at the same time.

CERTIFICATION

When it comes to precious gemstones like diamonds, quality is the key. At Stone Lab, we pay serious attention to diamond certification. All our lab grown diamonds are either certified or approved by Gem Certification and Assurance Lab (GCAL) or by International Gemological Institute (IGI). Both these two associations are well respected in the diamond industry; they are known for their consistency and unbiased grading systems.

When lab grown diamonds are IGI or GCAL certified, it means that those manmade diamonds have the same physical, chemical, and optical characteristics as natural diamonds, and exhibit the same fire, scintillation, and sparkle. Also, Lab Grown Diamonds are conflict-free and cost-effective at the same time.

Lab Grown Diamonds Are Similar To Real Diamonds

Although grown in labs by scientists, lab grown diamonds are real diamonds. They have the same chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds. They are so identical that sometimes expert gemmologists have a tough time spotting the difference.

We have a wide collection of lab created diamonds (also referred to as Lab grown diamonds, solitaire diamonds, manmade diamonds ) which are chemically, physically and optically identical to 100% mined diamonds.
