I've been stopped at Larnaca airport for not having proper paperwork related to COVID-19 and forced to apply for a special permit in order to enter Cyprus. The official review time for such a permit is four days.

After submitting my application, I was locked in a cell until the permit is received. The next morning I emailed the Canadian embassy in Cyprus and an hour later ambassador personally got in touch with me and four hours later I received the permit and was allowed to enter Cyprus.
