The diagrams illustrate ratio between marriages and divorces in USA from 1970 to 2000, and conjugal status of American adults in 1970 and 2000.

Overall, over 30 years the numbers of marriages have decreased. The figure of divorces had been changing, but nevertheless came back to the starting point. Also percentage of people, who never married increased.

The quantity of marriages in 1970 was 2.5 millions, and it had been decreasing by 2000 to 2 millions. It shows that the value of marriage has dropped. The number of divorces had been hesitating, but it came back the same.

The statistic shows that the ratios were 13 for never married, 70 for people in marriage, 8 for widowed and 3 for divorced. However, 30 years have passed and figures have changed. Statistics also shows that the percentages were 20 for never married, 59 for married, 5 for widowed and 9 for divorced in 2000.
