Reasons and Solutions for the Failure of Outdoor Solar Street Lights

Outdoor solar street light is a perfect lighting solution used for road lighting. The solar lights are being favored by more and more people. Sometimes, the outdoor solar street lights will fail to work. We listed some problems of the street lights and the solutions, hoping to help the solar street lamp users.

1. The LED light source is damaged (approximately 25%)

The LED light source is damaged due to natural or man-made reasons, causing the solar street light system fail to work.

Solution: Repair or replace the LED light source.

2. The solar panel is damaged (about 5%)

(Test the open circuit voltage of the solar panel. The solar panel is not connected to any load in the sun, and do not connect to the controller. Pull out the wire of the solar panel directly and connect a multimeter to test its voltage. The voltage of the solar panel will definitely display high under normal conditions. At 12V, the battery can be charged only if the voltage is higher than 12V, and the battery cannot be charged if it is lower than 12V.)

The outdoor solar street lights can't work or the working time is not enough.

Solution: Replace solar panels.

3. The constant current source is damaged (approximately 10%)

The outdoor solar street lights can't work, and the LED light will not light up or flicker.

Solution: Repair the constant current source or directly replace the constant current source.

4. The controller hardware is damaged (approximately 10%)

The solar street light system can't work normally, the LED light is on and off, the time is not enough, it is on during the day, and it is not on at night or it is on all the time.

Solution: Change the controller hardware and directly replace the controller.

5. The line is aging or the line is disconnected (about 14%)

The outdoor solar street lights can't work normally, and the LED will not light up or flicker.

Solution: Reconnect the wires or replace the wires.

6. Man-made hardware damage to the solar street light system (approximately 5%)

The solar street light system is not working properly.

Solution: hardware repair or replacement of damaged hardware.
