Hemi Network, Mainnet miner guide

HEMI is a modular L2 based on BTC & ETH, raised 15.6m$. Mainnet already launched and airdrop confirmed.

As for now you can run mainnet node to earn PoPPoints (not the same as Mainnet points, that you can farm by staking) on which your airdrop will also depend.

You can run miner on any OS, in this guide I'll be using Ubuntu.

Requirements:

Ubuntu server (2CPU/4RAM/40SSD is enough)

Bitcoin compatible wallet (Unisats)

$BTC (P2PKH legacy)

How to..

1. Connect to the server

2. Update system:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

3. Install packages:
sudo apt install wget unzip nano curl -y

4. Download PoP miner:
wget https://github.com/hemilabs/heminetwork/releases/download/v1.0.0/heminetwork_v1.0.0_linux_amd64.tar.gz

5. Extract the miner:
tar -xvzf heminetwork_v1.0.0_linux_amd64.tar.gz

6. Open extracted folder:
cd heminetwork_v1.0.0_linux_amd64

7. Check config:
./popmd --help

8. Set fee, key & RPC:

export POPM_BTC_PRIVKEY=your_private_key export POPM_STATIC_FEE=5 export POPM_BFG_URL=wss://pop.hemi.network/v1/ws/public export POPM_BTC_CHAIN_NAME=mainnet ./popmd

In step 8 you need to change your_private_key to your HEX private key from your wallet.
Your miner is on, now your're farming PoPPoints. Don't forget to chech $BTC balance for smooth operation of the miner.

As for now (17 march) & avg gas 2sats/vB it costs around 120$ per day to run a miner. This guide was written by MARKUZDAO
