В Америке есть своё примерное соответствие нашему знаменному пению, именуемое Old Harp или Sacred Harp. Оно зародилось в XVIII в. в Новой Англии и в настоящее время сохраняется в основном в традиционных баптистских и родственных общинах американского Юга.
