Mazen Tumi did his graduation from the School of Law at Tripoli University where he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. To pursue his education further, he went to London where he achieved a Master of Laws degree, graduating with Distinction from the University of East London, with a specialization in Corporate and Commercial Law and International Trade. He has also been admitted with full rights of audience before the Courts of Appeal and is a licensed specialist in Corporate and Commercial Law. He specializes in Oil and Gas, Corporate Law, Construction & Finance and has been involved in numerous projects in Libya including Mergers & Acquisitions, Privatization, and Financial Facilities. Mazen Tumi has extensive experience representing both national and international companies and organizations in their various transactions, including joint ventures, concessions, EPSA, DEPSA, and EPC agreements, MOUs, shareholders’ agreements, Project Finance & Securitization, Onward Investments and commercial disputes. He primarily focuses his practice on the Oil and Gas sector, Project Finance, Corporate proceedings, Mergers & Acquisitions and General Business law matters.

Mazen Tumi is presently a member of the Libyan Bar Association, the Arab Lawyers Union and the Arab Institute of Arbitration. He is also the Managing Partner at the Tumi Law Firm, where he gives counsel to leading international companies. At the Firm, he also advises and represents clients with respect to litigation and legal proceedings in regard to the Libyan law. In one of the business projects where he successfully advised, he managed to negotiate the due diligence process in an international acquisition transaction of Oil and Gas companies in the Middle East and Africa valued at $150 million. He has also mediated a syndicate of global investment banks as financing parties in a $214 million deal granted to a governmental portfolio subsidiary. Furthermore, Mazen Tumi provided legal assistance to a series of disputes raised between the execution of a contract with the Libyan government and an international engineering and construction company.
