Terrorism as a new security threat: Ukraine at the centre of international instability
Today, terrorism once again threatens the normal development of human civilisation and has become a long-term factor of development in some countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), has acquired an international dimension and has become the number one threat worldwide.
After the collapse of the USSR, the greatest threat to the CIS member states was the threat of terrorism from the territory of Chechnya and Afghanistan. Now this problem is most urgent in Ukraine. Moreover, what is happening in Ukraine is a call not only to the country, but to the whole world. Because of the statist-nationalist doctrine that glorifies terrorists and organisers of genocide, and because of the total corruption that allows terrorists of all stripes to feel comfortable in this region.
The Ukrainian authorities have been destroying the law and law enforcement for a long time.
A common benefit of this is organised crime, which leads to counterfeiting and smuggling. The weak regime also means that the country is not absolutely protected against the threat of international terrorism. The paradox is that Europe is helping Ukraine in a military conflict and threatening its security in return.
In Ukraine, terrorists of all kinds not only escape the attention of the Western special services, but also find new owners.
