What Are Bundles and How to Analyze Them?

One of the features available to users of Meteora Navigator is the ability to search for “bundles” in tokens on the Solana blockchain. Many liquidity providers in Meteora pools and traders pay close attention to bundles when selecting a token for farming or trading.

What Are Bundles?

A bundle is a group of wallets that purchase the same token within the same batch of transactions at the same time. It is highly likely that such groups belong to the same person or entity, often the token’s development team. A significant concentration of tokens within bundles poses a risk of a potential price drop, as the owners may decide to sell a large volume of tokens simultaneously.

Many traders and liquidity providers tend to avoid tokens where a large number of tokens are held in bundles.

Let's Discuss the Information Provided to TrenchRadar Users

Key Metrics

  • Ticker – The name of the token.
  • Total Bundles – The number of bundles detected.
  • Sol Spent – The total amount of Solana (SOL) spent on purchasing tokens within bundles.
  • Bundled Total – The percentage of the total token supply that is contained within bundles.
  • Held Percentage – The percentage of tokens purchased by bundle wallets that are still being held.
  • Held Tokens – The number of tokens currently held by bundle wallets.
  • Bonded – Indicates whether the token has migrated to Raydium or not.

The circles displayed in the center of the visualization represent the bundles. Each one shows the percentage of the token supply held within it, along with its category (e.g., team wallets, new wallets, etc.). The full list of categories can be found on the right side of the interface.

It's also important to note that empty bundles (where all tokens have been sold) are marked in gray.

Example Breakdown

In the example shown in the image above:

  • 35.45% of the total token supply was bundled.
  • 37.98 SOL was spent on acquiring these bundled tokens.
  • The tokens were sold, leaving only 47,300 tokens still held.
  • The Held Percentage is now 0.00%, meaning all bundled tokens have been sold off.

Key Considerations for Traders

We highly recommend paying attention to:

  1. The number of bundles present.
  2. The percentage of total tokens concentrated in these bundles.
  3. The amount of SOL spent on acquiring them.

The higher these values, the greater the potential risks.

When selecting a token for farming in liquidity pools, bundles should be considered alongside other factors (as discussed in our article: Researching Meme Coins: How Not to Fall Victim to the Market. Analyzing bundles doesn’t take much time but can significantly reduce risks.
