LEC (LIA English Competition): Types and Regulations 

1. Show and Tell

Topic: "Celebrating Our City's Treasures: a Look at Local Souvenirs"

Points that must be included in the presentation:

1. Exploring the different types of local souvenirs available, such as food, crafts, and clothing

2. The history and development oflocal souvenirs in their city

Allocated time: 3 - 5 minutes.

Participants: GEYL 1 - 3 students and GEYL 4 – 6 students

2. Story Telling

Topic: "Discovering the Heart and Soul of Our Cities: A Celebration of City Landmarks"

Points that must be included in the presentation:

1. The history and evolution of city landmarks

2. The role of city landmarks in preserving cultural heritage and local identity

3. The importance of protecting and preserving city landmarks for future generations

Allocated time: 5 - 7 minutes.

Participants: GET/ETstudents

3. Presentation

Topic: "Innovative Ideas for Attracting Tourists to Our Cities: a Young People Perspective"

Points that can be covered in the competition include:

1. Identifying the unique and attractive aspects of their city

2. Proposing innovative ideas for promoting tourism, such as cultural events, food festivals, outdoor activities, and more.

3. Considering the impact of these events on local communities and the environment

4. Developing creativemarketingstrategies to promote the events andattract

tourists

5. Presenting their ideas in an engaging and persuasive manner, demonstrating the potential for their ideas to become a reality.

Allocated time: 6-7 minutes

Participants: GEA/ESPstudents

4. Feature Journalism Video Competition

Topic: "Discovering the Hidden Gems: a Tourist's Guide to Exploring Local Destinations and Events"

Topics to be chosen are:

1. Best Local Tourist Destination: Participants can highlight the best local tourist destinations in their area, from scenic hiking trails to historic landmarks to hidden beaches.

2. Best Local Event: It would focus on capturing the excitement and energy of local events, from festivals and concerts to sporting events and cultural celebrations.

3. Best Food and Drink: Participants could share their favorite local food and drink establishments, showcasing the local cuisine and drinks that make the area unique.

4. Best Culture and History: This category would highlight the local history and culture, from museums and historical sites to local traditions and customs.

Video duration:5-7minutes

Video requirements:

1. Minimum 1280x720 px

2. Format: MP4

3. Ratio 16:9

4. Clear Sound (No background noise)

5. Use your own voice in live recording (No voice over)

6. The video should be EDITED first and sent as ONE FILE


How to submit the video:

1. Name your video in this format (YOUR NAME_LEVEL_COURSE DAY_ROOM)
