........................................

The Hermitage Garden occupies most of Karetny Ryad Street, from Uspensky Lane. On its territory are: the Moscow Theater "Hermitage", the Moscow Theater "New Opera", the Moscow Drama Theater "Sphere", a summer symphonic stage.

It was founded in 1894 by the famous Moscow theater entrepreneur and philanthropist. The park became one of the first entertainment gardens in Moscow. Very soon, the garden became a favorite place for Muscovites. Here they played chess, walked, read, listened to famous artists, watched a movie. It was here in 1957 that the Festival of Youth and Students was held. In 2019, the Hermitage Garden celebrated its 125th anniversary.

At first glance, it might seem that the territory is not very large, but this is not at all so. It is not huge, but not small, it can be said to be ideal for a park in the very heart of Moscow.

"Where to go, what to do?"

Go to the theater

The Hermitage Garden has always been the epicenter of the theatrical life of Moscow. Today there are three theaters in the garden: the Hermitage, the Sphere and the New Opera. In addition, various kinds of theatrical events, tours, and concerts are constantly held. Each time, theaters delight the audience with fresh productions and decisions that lovers of theater art will appreciate.

Tickets are best viewed in advance, because theaters are quite popular here, and tickets are taken very quickly.

Visit the famous summer stage

Estrada is a legendary place. The first open stage appeared in the garden in the middle of the 19th century, when the Hermitage was located on Bozhedomka. Now there are performances by stars, concerts on City Day and other holidays, major presentations, and sometimes an orchestra just plays.

Watch an open-air movie

In the warm season, it is especially nice to combine an evening walk with watching a good movie. Fresh air, the noise of foliage, the starry sky above your head, the masterpieces of world cinema and the unique atmosphere of a cozy picnic will make anyone forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Skate

Not only in the summer there is something to do in the Hermitage. There are two ice rinks in the garden: one with natural ice, which is located in the alleys of the shady part of the garden, and an artificial ice rink, which works in any weather, even during winter thaws. Here you can rent skates and change clothes in warm pavilions.

To eat

On the territory of the garden there is a large number of small and medium-sized cafes with any cuisine in which you can have a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Just relax

The garden has a lot of vegetation, especially flowers and trees. And in summer it is a great place to just relax on a hammock, bench or in the gazebo surrounded by a flowering club.
