What was this project and what was I responsible for in it?
I decided to create a creative project for my portfolio and to improve my skill.
The task was to create a remake of the cult game Hotline Miami in 4 months.
Throughout the creation of the remake, I relied on references from other games, ArtStation and feedback from industry professionals I met during the creation of the gam.
In a week I worked out the level design, story and level idea. After that I made mechanics to the level such as shooting and bots on Blueprints.
Next, I started assets locations from ready-made assets and working out the lighting. I had a deadline of 1 month to work out all 5 of my locations. My task was to evoke a sense of nostalgia in the fans of the game and also to attract new players. I took feedback from fans of the game on reddit and also analyzed the game myself. When I finished analyzing the game, I continued creating the level. I did optimization, sound design and also worked out the basic effects such as shooting, blood. I also made 2 cutscenes for the beginning of the level and the end. After I finished creating the game, I received good feedback from Hotline Miami fans who tested my game.

Level descriptions
Location: Public and private places in Miami, cafes, dance floor, restrooms, kitchen, utility rooms for workers.
Mechanics for all levels: Shooting system, running system, cover system, xp system, acceleration system, music tempo change system from killing enemies, and potrons selection.
(Cut scene) The GG drives a car to the entrance of the building.
He enters the building through the door.
In the first location we see the controllers, we go to them. When they see us, they set off an alarm and run away. A dynamic soundtrack starts playing. We see 3 guards running out of the next room, who starts shooting at us. We kill them and run into the room.
In the next room we run into 2 guards first. And another 1 runs out of the room. We kill them. The dynamic soundtrack turns off.
Further we go to the next location in which there is a large dance floor and a room with a cafe. On the dance floor we meet 3 enemies. A dynamic soundtrack starts playing. After the doors run out at us three more enemies. We kill them. Then we go further and see behind the windows of the cafe in which there are 2 enemies. We can shoot them through the glass / go in and kill them. After we kill them the soundtrack turns off.
Next we go to the elevator, but we don't have the card. We go back to look for the card and find it in the cafe on the table. We can also find ammunition.
Let's go to the elevator.
We're taking the elevator down.
We get out of the elevator and go to the next location. We see a hall with 2 enemies in it. Two of them immediately see us and shoot. We kill them. After we go to the door in front, but it is closed and we need to find another way. It is in the room to the right of the door. There is a hidden passage to the room behind the door. We get through the ventilation, thus moving to a new location.
(Cut scene) In the room we meet Richard. He says "You're at a dead end" and kills us - end of level.
