Messenger investing

Telegram raised $ 1 billion by selling convertible bonds to major investors around the world.

Half of the issue was redeemed by global investment funds, including Mubadala Investment Company and Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners, and the messenger placed the remaining 50% with European and Russian funds and banks.

Plans are underway to create a proprietary messenger advertising platform for public channels, which is designed to ensure privacy and should allow the company to cover server and traffic costs. Premium stickers can also be created with additional features for which artists will receive a portion of the profits.

The product, which has been developing since 2013, is entering a new period of development - monetization through advertising, paid bots, stickers, third-party applications like vkotnakte.

Earlier, Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, was going to launch the TON blockchain platform and the Gram cryptocurrency; in this project he attracted $ 1.7 billion from investors.
However, then the American Securities Commission banned the sale of Gram, and Durov had to return the money.

Billions of dollars for the development of a project that has existed for more than 7 years, how do you like that? 🙂
