FAQ
Any device that runs Android should work. That includes mobile phones, tablets, watches, projectors, TVs, consoles, or Amazon sticks.
Sure, any Android-compatible or Xbox-compatible controller should work, whether it’s Bluetooth or wired. You can also play multi-player games with several gamepads.
How do I exit to the menu when using a Joystick/gamepad?
Press simultaneously SELECT+START buttons
I'm on a console or using a Joystick Gamepad and I don't want to keep on-screen controls while playing
Just activate "Hide Overlay when controller is connected" on Main Menu
ADDING MORE GAMES
1.- Download a game
You can find games all over the internet; you can start with archive.org, but a Google search for “Tetris MegaDrive ROM” should work. For arcade, download games for mame2003plus or fbneo, otherwise they might not work.
2.- Move the game to the right folder.
Use a file manager to move the downloaded game to the folder android/data/com.retroarch.dev.release/files/EXTRA_ROMS and then to the appropriate subfolder (in this case, megadrive).
3.- Exit Kiosk Mode
Start BOB+. In the Main Menu, click on Kiosk Mode OFF, enter the password (1234), and press Enter.
4.- Create a new playlist
Tap on Import Content, Manual Scan, Content Directory:
...then tap here to go to android/data/com.retroarch.dev.release/files, ROMS_EXTRA, and the appropiate folder, in this case megadrive.
...and tap "Scan This Directory". The tap on "Default Core" and tap on the right core (in this case picodrive"
Then tap on file extensions and type the extensions. Separate them with a space. Finally tap on Start Scan.
Tap on the bottom play list icon and there it is a new Playlist "megadrive". Tap on it, there it is your game. Tap and play.
TROUBLESHOOTING
I get a warning saying the app isn’t safe when installing.
Google doesn’t want you to install apps outside its store. Tap “More details” and then “Install anyway.”
Also you can temporally disable Google Play Protect
It looks like it tries to install, but in the end it says it couldn’t install it.
Try the correct version for your device (32 or 64 bit). If one doesn’t work, try the other. Also check that you have enough free space to install it (1 GB free to be safe).
In the Main Menu, try enabling or disabling Threaded Video. You can also try disabling Vertical Sync just below it, as well as Rewind.
