Do this if you want a normal delivery
Women may have other reasons for eating healthy and exercising during pregnancy: This behavior can reduce the chances of them having cesarean section, the discovery of a new meta-analysis.
Gaining weight during pregnancy is healthy and desirable, but gaining too much weight can have a negative effect on both mother and baby.
For example, gaining too much weight during pregnancy can increase the chance that the baby will have a high birth weight, which in turn, can increase the baby's risk of medical problems, such as obesity and high blood pressure, during childhood. In addition, excess weight gain can put a woman at risk for a condition called preeclampsia during pregnancy. And several studies have found that overweight can increase the likelihood of a C-section, which is more risky than vaginal delivery. (Part C is generally considered safe, but it is still a major surgical procedure and therefore carries risks.)
Among pregnant women in the new study, those who followed a healthy diet and exercised gained 0.7 kilograms (1.5 lbs.) Less than women who did not follow this healthy lifestyle behavior. They are also 9 percent more likely to have a C-section, according to a meta-analysis, published today (July 19) in the journal The BMJ. The research was carried out by the International Weight Management in Pregnancy Collaborative Groups, a network of researchers who observed weight management interventions for pregnant women.

The findings come from the researchers' analysis of data collected on more than 12,500 women in 36 previous studies. All studies have looked at the effects of diet and exercise programs during pregnancy on mothers and babies.
About 45 percent of women in the meta-analysis participated in the study during their first pregnancy. In addition, 40 percent of women are obese, and another 40 percent say they have an inactive lifestyle, the researchers noted.
The findings show that all women, regardless of their weight, can benefit from diet and exercise advice during pregnancy, the researchers write. In addition, doctors must convince women that it is safe to exercise during pregnancy and show that not doing so can be dangerous.
So you plan to avoid a Caesarean section? Want to feel the beauty of giving birth normally? The right exercise, plus the right diet, is the key to your success. Good luck!
