Phrasal verbs practice
1. Alex was late for his date night. At least, he showed up (= turned up, appeared) with a bunch of roses.
2. It's not just that I like the relationship, which is true, but that I'm going to step up (= get better, improve) and take active steps to maintain this relationship.
3. Things were coming right along, and I made Ron a promise that if he kept up (= continued)the good work, he would go home for his birthday.
