Great Ideas For Celebrating Valentine's Week In A Long-Distance Relationship
Staying away from the one your beloved is truly difficult, and as the distance rises, visits begin to lower down. But as it is said, distance causes the heart to become more affectionate. Indeed, several people will not agree that long-distance relationships can perhaps be an excellent idea, as people who are in a long-distance relationship understand how enchanting it is!
Each day, it becomes more manageable. Even if you are unable to meet your love interest every day, you recognize that you have a schedule of visiting one another. And indeed, you have text messages and video calls to stay in touch. But on special days like Valentine's Day, it becomes remarkably difficult. When everybody around you is reveling with their love interest with best Valentines gifts and parties, and you are sitting there and missing your companion.
I can correlate to it, as I reside in Mumbai, and two years ago, my girlfriend relocated to Sydney, Australia, due to work. We have been in a relationship for six years, and in the last two years, we celebrated our Valentine's Day separately. We understood it would be remarkably challenging to be without one another. We considered visiting one another, but neither she or I were able to take time out of work. We had no choice rather than staying home and crave one another.
This was when I realized that even if we are not living together, yet we can commemorate Valentine's Day as it is all about reveling love.
So, here I bring you ideas that I used and that you can also use to make your Valentine's celebration special.
- Midnight Video Call - We had a pleasant conversation before we kept the phone down, but I chose to greet her Valentine's at midnight Australian time. It was indeed a surprise for her, as I rarely call her multiple times when I am at work.
- Something Sweet for My Beloved - I understand how pressurized and stressed she becomes while she is at work. Further, she also had a crucial presentation on Valentine's Day, so I chose to send her something delightful at work. I decided to present it immediately after the conference, and trust me; she was genuinely delighted.
- More gifts - If you want to delight your beloved, then there is nothing better than gifts. So, I decided to go online and look for more Valentine's Day Gifts in Australia. I chose to send her some of our cherished moments with customized couple wine glasses and personalized cushion, and they were received by her as soon she arrived home from work. Also, I posted a handwritten message, which was obtained by her in the mail along with the gifts.
- Love Hamper in the Morning - I desired to send her Valentine's gifts in Australia. I did not want to meet her or wait for her to present the gift, so I chose to send her a Love Hamper, which consisted of a bouquet of red roses, a deliciously delectable heart-shaped red velvet Valentines cake, and some handmade chocolates. The Hamper included everything she loves.
- A Thoughtful Playlist - We bot use a shared Spotify account, and she loves listening to music every day after she comes back home from work. So, I organized a playlist of all our beloved songs, each song which reminded me of her, the songs we enjoyed collectively. So, when she opened the Spotify account after reaching home, she discovered that playlist, enjoyed and relived all those memorable moments.
- The Dinner Surprise - On Valentine's eve, I ordered her favorite dishes for dinner. After receiving it, she called me and expressed her gratitude and questioned why did I order dinner for two? That is when I answered: "Because I know that you will not share yours with me, C'mon, open the door." And there I was, and her eyes were filled with tears of joy. I had made the whole day special for her and startled her with my visit. She was delighted and said, "Sending these amazing gifts from India to Australia was sufficient, and there was no need for you to come all the way here. But I am happy that you did." Honestly, that was the best Valentine's Day we ever celebrated.
