Color measurement steps of colorimeter

Color measurement steps of colorimeter:
Nowadays, the commonly used color measuring instrument in the coating field is the color difference meter (mainly divided into spectrophotometer and photoelectric integral color difference meter). The x, y and Y, namely the chromaticity coordinates and the brightness factor can be obtained by measuring the sample plate by the instrument. Through the chromaticity diagram, you can know the position of the measured color in the chromaticity diagram. In order to make the color space more in line with the color difference of visual observation, x, y, and Y are transformed into a*, b*, L* values through a series of conversions, where the a* value represents the red and green phase (positive value is red) , B* value represents yellow-blue phase (positive value is yellow), L* value represents brightness, namely black and white phase (0 is black, 100 is white). In this way, each color shows a set of corresponding a*, b*L* values, and two different colors show different a*, b*, L* values, so that Δa, Δb, and ΔL can be obtained. The difference between the chromaticity and the difference in lightness can be calculated as the total color difference between the two, expressed as ΔE. The colorimeter can print out the a*, b*, and L* data of the two colors, and directly print the ΔE value through the computer system, that is, the color difference.

The operation of the colorimeter generally includes the following steps:

1. Start the calibration of the colorimeter.

2. Use a colorimeter to measure color, measure the standard sample and the sample separately.

3. The colorimeter display screen displays the measurement data, and the measurement data can be printed.

4. Store and print out the required data.

The measurement of the colorimeter can be completed in a few seconds. The simple color difference meter can only calculate the color difference, not the ratio of the mixed colors. The high-end color difference meter can also have many functions. In addition to controlling the color, it can also control the formula and perform weighing.
