'V' Movie

V is an action thriller film of Tollywood, written and directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Released in the year 2020, the film stars Nani, Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas in lead roles and Aditi Rao Hydari along with Vennela Kishore and Tanikella Bharani in supporting roles. V is Nani's 25th film as a lead actor, in which he played an antihero for the first time. In the film, Sudheer Babu plays as DCP Aditya, a celebrated cop that handles a communal riot in Hyderabad. He is awarded a gallantry medal for solving various cases. Later, an inspector named Prasad is murdered by an unknown killer who leaves a note challenging Sudheer Babu to catch him. He suspects Apoorva (Nivetha Thomas), a crime novelist but later realizes that she had nothing to with it. Meanwhile, the killer calls Sudheer Babu and challenges to prevent four more murders, failing which he must give up his medals and resign. Sudheer Babu accepts the challenge. The rest of the film is how Sudheer Babu catches the killer after many twists and turns. This tollywood film was a huge hit and received great response from the audience, majorly for Nani and Sudheer Babu’s performance in the film. However, the critics had mixed reviews saying that "V could have benefited with a far more engaging story. As it stands now, it’s a pale story that doesn’t make you root for its prime characters." Another critic named Hemanth Kumar of the Firstpost, rated the film 2.5 out of five and noted "V is a Telugu film, and if a top star is portrayed as an anti-hero, he cannot be a diabolical person at any cost." The film was released on Amazon Prime and been removed on 2 March 2021 for using an image of Mumbai-based actor Sakshi Malik used without her consent. It was re-released on Amazon Prime on 4 March 2021 after removing the image.
