$100 million stolen in latest crypto hack
A California-based cryptocurrency firm Harmony announced on June 24 that threat actors have stolen $100 million worth of cryptocurrency from one of its blockchain bridges.
The firm tweeted it has partnered up with law enforcement and forensic specialists to try to identify the hackers and retrieve the stolen funds:
Harmony is working around the clock as we continue our investigation alongside the FBI and multiple cyber security firms.
In a blog post, Harmony reported its team has attempted to reach out to the hacker with an embedded message sent to the culprit’s cryptocurrency wallet address.
The hack is the latest crypto breach to occur in the last two months.
Last week, Cyber Spetsnaz targeted Lithuanian government resources and critical infrastructure – the recent ban on Russian railway goods has caused a new spike of hacker activity on the Dark Web.
On June 22, Cyber Spetsnaz has announced multiple targets for coordinated DDoS attacks – the resources to be attacked are distributed between so-called “units” who are based on members and volunteers who joined previous and current campaigns.
