You can record videos on the entire screen or just parts of the screen.
Use Shift-Command-5
If you are using macOS Mojave or later, press Shift-Command (⌘) -5 on your keyboard to see on-screen controls for Record the entire screen, record portions of the screen, or capture still images of the screen. You can also record your screen with QuickTime Player instead.
Save entire screen
1.Click

Trim, share, and save
After the recording has been stopped The video thumbnail will appear for a short time. In the bottom right corner of the screen.
- No action is required or flick the thumbnail to the right And the recorded video will be automatically saved
- Click the thumbnail to open the recorded video. From there you will be able to click.

- Drag the saved video thumbnail to move it to another location, such as to a document, email, Finder window, or trash.
- Hold down the Control button and click on the thumbnails to see more options. For example, you can change the recording location. Open the recorded video in the app. Or delete the recorded video without saving it.
Change settings
Click the options on the screen control to change the settings as follows.
- Save to: Choose where you want to automatically save the recorded video, such as your desktop, document, or clipboard.
- Stopwatch: Choose the time to start recording: Immediately, 5 seconds or 10 seconds after you click save.
- Microphone: If you want to record your voice or other sounds While also recording videos Select the microphone
- Show floating thumbnails: Choose whether to show Thumbnail or not
- Remember the latest selection: Choose whether to set the default setting as your selection the last time you used this tool.
- Show mouse clicks: Choose whether to show a black circle around your mouse pointer when you click in a recorded video.
Use QuickTime Player.
Open QuickTime Player from your application folder. And choose File> New Screen Recorder from the menu bar. You will then see On-screen controls as described above Or a new screen recording window as described in the next step.
- Before recording, You can click on the arrow next to it.
- To change the recording settings as follows.
- If you want to record your voice or other sounds With screen recording Select the microphone To check the sound during the recording Adjust the volume slider (If there is a response Lower the volume or use headphones with a microphone)
- To show a black circle around the mouse pointer when you click Select to show mouse clicks in “Record”.
- To begin recording, click
- and do one of the following:
- Click anywhere on the screen to start recording the entire screen.
- Or drag to select an area to save Then click start recording within that area.
- To stop recording, click
- in the menu bar or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape).
- After you stop recording, QuickTime Player will automatically open the recorded video. You will be able to play, edit, or share that recording.

- When saving the recorded video automatically, your Mac will be named “Video from the screen, date, time, time.mov”
