Plus Messenger cache
Cache is a place that stores app data so that future requests for that data can be served faster. Plus Messenger uses cache to not to download media when you scroll chat to it and to show it faster.
If cache stores too many files, it can cause incorrect app working. Then you have to clean app cache.
Please note that messages are not deleted from cloud when you clean cache. All messages are kept in chats and are still available after cache cleaning, but you have to redownload files and media.
To tune Plus Messenger cache settings do the following:
- Follow link tg://settings/storage
- It is recommended not to set "Forever" as media keeping term.
Please note that app regularly cleans its cache if you set limited term. So you have to redownload media after set term if you need it again. If you need file or media after downloading, save it to Gallery/Downloads folder by tapping three dots button near downloaded media:
To clean Plus Messenger cache do the following:
Follow link tg://settings/storage and wait until app calculates cache size
Tap on "Clear Telegram Cache" button
Keep all checkboxes and tap on "Clear Cache" button
Wait until "toast" messages appears
Tap on "Clear Local Database" button
Confirm local database cleaning
