Plus Messenger: translating messages
There are two translation engines in Plus Messenger at the moment: Telegram native one and Plus Messenger's unique one.
Plus Messenger translation engine
How to turn on?
It is enabled by default. If Telegram native engine is not enabled (Settings >> Language) then Plus Messenger one is ON.
What is to be known?
1. Plus Messenger does not have in-app translation engine. It uses free translation engines: Google or Yandex. You can choose which service you use by Translation Provider option.
2. Source language is defined automatically. You can not choose it.
3. Destination language is set by Change translation language option. If you do not see needed language there then you can open more long language list:
- Tap here.
- Tap & hold "Change translation language" mod.
- Choose language you need.
4. You can translate both received messages and outgoing messages.
- Turn on Add 'Translate' option to send button to be able to translate outgoing messages.
- Type draft and then tap&hold sending button to open sending menu.
- Tap "Translate" to translate your draft. Tap&hold it to change destination language.
5. Sometimes when you try to translate a message app displays error like "HTTP response code: XXX", where XXX is a digit. In this case
- Please remember: Plus Messenger uses external translation service provider. So it is not Plus Messenger who fails translation: it is external provider.
- You may search for your error code here to see why did error occur. In most of cases the reason is translation provider overload.
