The Airport authority of India was forced to reduce the runway of the international airport from 3398 m to 3373 m as the state provided only 37 cents of land of the vallakkadavu side for creating the mandatory RESA

PTT = Parallel Taxi Track

The occupancy of the aircraft on the runway is for longer duration because there is no PTT.

Noise abatement procedure

This is generally done to avoid the noise pollution by the aircraft while flying over a populated area.this is achieved by a faster takeoff followed by idle run till the aircraft has survived the populated area and then continuing it's normal flight.
