What do I do If my Printer is not Accepting Command?

Check Out These Points If Your Printer is Not Accepting Commands

Many times your printer won’t listen to you and it won’t print. It becomes quite a nightmare particularly when you urgently need a printout. If you have faced such an issue earlier then you should be prepared next time. We have jotted down some points to solve your problem.

Common Problems to Check

First, Check the Printer:

  • First, go to the control panel of your printer, and there find the config page.
  • Select it and see if the printer prints out that page.
  • If it does then you have other issues such as connectivity with your computer.
  • If it doesn’t print out then you might have to check your printer with paper feed, ink, toner, and other issues such as the driver of the printer.

Next Check Your Port Settings If on a Network:

  • Go to the Reports menu and get the printout of the config page.
  • Check the printout and find out the IP address of the printer.
  • In the properties of the driver of your computer, the port settings need to match.
  • If it doesn’t match then make it match and things should work fine.

Check the Following Points If on a USB:

  • Sue the USB on some other port in your computer.
  • See if your computer loads the hardware and provides a Copy1 of the printer.
  • If yes then delete the old copy of the printer from your computer.

If you take the above measures hopefully your printer might now start giving you printouts seamlessly. If you face the problem of the printer not responding to my computer again then check with the above solutions and update the printer driver from time to time.
