Subclass 500 (Student) visa - combined applications changes
The wording of Subclass 500 (Student) visa legislation has been changed from:
An application by a person claiming to be a member of the family unit of a person who is seeking to satisfy the primary criteria for the grant of a Subclass 500 (Student) visa may be made at the same time and place as, and combined with, the application by that person.
to:
An application by a person claiming to be a member of the family unit of a person who is an applicant for the grant of a Subclass 500 (Student) visa may be made at the same time and place as, and combined with, the application by that person.
This change allows student and members of their family unit to make combined applications and lowers the total amount of the visa application charge. It removes the need for the secondary applicant to make a separate application where the primary applicant has already been granted a Student visa.
