RELOCATION TO UK | DEEP SCIENCE VENTURES

Deep Science Ventures is a deep-tech venture studio creating and investing in science-led companies across pharmaceuticals, climate, agriculture, and computation.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of the existing AI platform for predicting clinical trial and drug development outcomes.
  • Define prediction tasks, connect evidence available at decision time to later outcomes, and build the measurement programme.
  • Develop and compare Bayesian, hierarchical, statistical, graph-learning, calibration, and other modelling approaches.
  • Design evaluations that address label quality, data leakage, contamination, predictive performance, and calibration.
  • Build the system hands-on, set technical priorities, and hire the first technical team after funding.
  • Explain the technical approach, evidence, limitations, and development plan to investors.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience defining evaluations and benchmarks, including unreliable labels and leakage-resistant data splits.
  • Strong applied statistics, including calibration, confidence intervals, base rates, and noisy or small datasets.
  • Working breadth across Bayesian and hierarchical inference, classical statistics, graph learning, probabilistic graphical models, and learned calibration.
  • Experience building production LLM systems with agent orchestration, tool integrations, context management, and regression-focused evaluation.
  • Hands-on technical leadership, clear communication with researchers and investors, and careful interpretation of uncertainty and limitations.
  • Full-time commitment from the spin-out is required; the company is UK-based, prefers UK-based candidates or candidates willing to relocate, and allows remote work for the right person.

Nice to have

  • Experience with biological or clinical data.
  • Previous founding experience or work at a frontier AI or AI-for-science company.
  • Research, software, open-source, evaluation, or benchmarking infrastructure that can be reviewed.

Culture & Benefits

  • Genuine co-founder equity stake and technical authority from day one.
  • Existing working platform and published scientific result, allowing the measurement programme to begin immediately.
  • Access to DSV’s global network of investors, advisors, and industrial partners.
  • Access to venture-building tools, resources, and processes.
  • Post-spinout support with fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building.

Hiring process

  • Submit a CV, a short note describing what should be measured first and what may be wrong with the mission, and links to built or published work.
  • Applications should report benchmark results precisely, including the baseline, data split, and interval width.
