TAKE UP YOUR SWORD!

RENEWING TRUTH: "I AM TRUSTING GOD."

In troubling times, it is important that we know that whatever happens in our lives: God is with us. He is with us amid whatever we are encountering. He is not a far-away God; sitting up in the sky, looking down on what is taking place here on Earth.

Instead through Jesus, God’s Spirit is WITHIN us. Ready to help us go through, whatever obstacle we face. This knowledge can bring us peace when we go through dark times and help affirm the TRUTH; that light is always present even when going through darkness.

One of the challenges we face during those times is being vigilant about our mindset.

We often have many conflicting thoughts going through our minds at one time, some easily spur us onwards and others deter us from our chosen paths, but what do we do when we come across them? Do we listen to the lies or the truth? And where do we find our SOURCE OF TRUTH? As Christians, our source should always be the Bible. The Bible tells us in Numbers 23:19

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

The Bible is our Source of Truth and therefore reading our Bibles daily, to learn how we can manage the path that we are on and increase our mental strength and encourage us when we are vulnerable or low. When you are backed up against the wall, what do you do? Because that is the exact time that you must start to remind yourself of who you are: you are a child of God! and God says, “you have the victory!” This means we are to live our lives with a victorious mindset. We should remember that no matter what we are experiencing right now, we have the victory through Christ! 1 Timothy 6:12 says

“…pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13”

Our command is to take hold of the eternal life to which we were called to when we made our good confession (of Salvation) in the presence of many witnesses. Why? It was a confession of faith because you cannot take hold of lies whilst holding onto the truth. So hold onto the Truth, which is that you are a Child of God, He has given you an ASSURED Victory over any circumstance. So, come on, wield your Sword with pride, along with your other Brothers and Sisters in Christ, because the battle has been won. Take courage and stand your ground. You got this!
