How to cancel American Airlines flight tickets?

If you have planned to travel and booked the flight tickets with American Airlines but unfortunately you have to drop the plan because of the unforeseen situation in life, you don’t need to worry about your booking. You are allowed to cancel your flight booking anytime at least 120 minutes prior to the departure time of your flight.

If you don’t know how to cancel American Airlines flight ticket you need to follow the instructions for the flight cancellation:

Ø Go to www.aa.com using any web browser

Ø Click on MY TRIPS

Ø Enter your first name, last name and the booking reference number

Ø Click on FIND RESERVATIONS

Ø It will show all the details about your flight reservation with all option to manage your flight booking

Ø You need to click on CANCEL

Ø Click on confirm

Once you confirmed the cancellation you will receive an email confirming the cancellation of the reservation.

You should always go through the American Airlines cancellation policy before canceling the flight booking so that you don’t need to be charged for anything unwanted. You can go through the policy as follows:

Ø If you cancel the flight within 24 hours of the flight booking time and also there is at least 7 days gap in flight booking and departure, you don’t need to pay any cancellation fee

Ø If you are canceling the flight after 24 hours of the flight booking time you will be charged for the cancellation fee.

Ø If you are canceling the flight within 7 days of the flight booking time you will be charged for the cancellation fee

You cannot cancel your flight within the last 2 hours of the flight departure time and you will not get the refund in case of no show.
