Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Market 2019 Received Rapid Boost in Global Industry by Forecast To 2023
Pune, India, April 14, 2016/MRFR Press Release/- Market Research Future published a cooked research report on Global Selective Catalytic Reduction Market. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is a process that simply adds a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust gas stream and filters it through a catalyst. SCR technology uses less fuel since the engine is tuned to cut NOx and can instead be set up for performance and economy. Stringent emission norms such as Euro VI have forced vehicle OEMs to employ high end after-treatment systems such as SCR, lean NOx traps (LNT) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). However, European OEMs such as Daimler, Volkswagen, PSA, Peugeot Citroën, and Renault Nissan are, especially, adopting SCR technology for larger segment engines. In small segment vehicles, OEMs are focusing on the use of combined SCR and diesel particular filter systems. Therefore, SCR technology is preferred to EGR, as it allows the engine to operate at more optimal combustion temperature, providing better power, fuel efficiency, lower NOx and particulate matter generation.
High cost, associated with the selective catalytic reduction is expected to act as a major restraint for the market.

Global Selective Catalytic Reduction Market in 2016.
The global selective catalytic reduction market has been segmented on the basis of application as diesel powered vehicles and gasoline powered vehicles. On the basis of vehicle type the market has been segmented as passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle. On the basis of region the market has been segmented as North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa and South America.
The Asia Pacific region dominated the Global Selective Catalytic Reduction Market in 2016
The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system market players in Asia Pacific region are expected to witness opportunities. Stringent government regulations, combined with improving transportation facilities and infrastructure are expected to aid the growth of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system market in this region.
The OEMs across the globe are trying to reduce the emission of soot particles and nitrogen oxides for engines to achieve compliance with increasingly strict emissions regulations. If the fuel burns at a higher temperature inside the cylinder, little soot is produced but a large amount of nitrogen oxide is formed. At lower combustion temperatures, nitrogen oxide emissions are low but the production of soot particulates is high. Therefore, it is essential that all the key technologies that affect combustion, are perfectly matched. The other way of reducing nitrogen oxide emissions is to use exhaust gas after treatment with an SCR catalytic converter (selective catalytic reduction). Very low limits for both, nitrogen oxide and diesel particulates can make use of such an SCR system necessary. Exhaust gas recirculation can reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by around 40 percent. Depending on the application, SCR systems remove up to 90 percent of the nitrogen oxide from exhaust gases. Thus, with particularly stringent emission standards, combination of exhaust gas recirculation and a SCR system is an upcoming trend. With both, EGR and SCR in place, engines can be fine-tuned for optimum fuel efficiency with greater reductions in emissions.
