The Roundabout who?
It's summer. The sun is shining, birds are chirping, life is great. Until I realize that, to continue my relaxing walk I have to go down a flight of stairs because the road is only meant for cars. I complain to my friend, as I so frequently do when walking down these streets. It's not only underground crossings; it's ridiculous signs that block the beautiful renaissance architecture, A/Cs on the walls of neatly designed modernist masterpieces, dangerously bad pavement that is this bad only so it can be replaced with equally bad and equally corrupt concrete tiles next summer. I make another snarky comment. To which my friend jokes "you should make an instagram account where the caption to every single post will be shit."
So I did. First, all posts said shit. Then suddenly I had more to say. Then I had so much to say that Instagram wasn't good enough of a medium. Here we are.
The Roundabout is my personal blog with my personal observations, notes, and sometimes complaints. My very first Instagram account was a long time ago. Since then I have learned that the world is much more nuanced and much more complicated. A poorly placed bollard may not be the end of the world, and although I do like to pay attention to those seemingly insignificant urban details, this blog is about more than that. At least, that is what I like to believe.
