Sanibel Golf Communities is an ideal place to play golf. Located in the mountains of north-central Texas, it has some of the most spectacular views of the area. The climate is sub-tropical, with cooler days and sun during the summer. In winter, however, the northern lights can be seen as far south as Dallas.
Sanibel is made up of five communities: Sanibel Island, Sanibel Golf Course, Windmill Landing, Wulfert Rd and Stearns Landing. Each community has its own feel with cottages, houses with ranch style homes and views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Sanibel National Forest. There are also condominiums and townhomes available. The main business area of Sanibel is centered around Sanibel Island, which is where most of the commercial activity happens. Sanibel Island is the official site of the Senior Golf Tournament and features a putting area, clubhouse, tennis court and 18 hole golf courses.
The Sanibel Island Golf Course is considered one of the best golf courses in Texas with beautiful landscapes featuring rolling hills covered with pine trees. The championship golf course plays in three seasons with the current one being the Sanibel Island Resort and Spa, offering a relaxing, intimate setting for visitors. The resort area features an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and hot tub. This is the only golf course on Sanibel Island.
Wulfert Rd is another fine golf community in Sanibel Island. It is known as one of the top Texas Hold'em golf communities. The club is only two miles from the gate at the Sanibel Island Golf & Country Club. The entire complex is home to eight homes and is built on private property. The houses are all spacious and have amenities such as car garages, large backyards, and well-appointed homes with granite counters and custom tiled bathrooms.
The tennis club, Sanibel Island Yacht Club is also located on sanibel island and is constructed of impressive clay courts. The complex has over three thousand sq ft of space dedicated to a singles or family tennis court. The entire complex is built on approximately seven acres of residential property and is made up of three pavilions. The club's house is fully furnished and has tennis courts, a golf putting area, a beach, picnic areas, an air conditioning unit, a washer and dryer, a power outlet and a grill.
The club, Sanibel Island Yacht Club is another fine golf community on Sanibel Island. The club is constructed of exceptional clay courts and is only a short walk from the Sanibel Island Yacht Club. The club houses eight cottages that are situated on private property and are built on approximate six acres of residential property. The cottages are tastefully decorated with king size beds, two fireplaces, a large dining room, a spa and several guestrooms.
The newest golf complex on Sanibel Island is called "The New Vista". This golf community is constructed of beautiful oak wood that stands eleven stories and includes two lavish restaurants, a spa and a wet bar. The complex itself includes one clubhouse, one course, two bunk houses and one premium golf course. It also has a premium spa and has a large indoor pool. The golf courses are designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills.
The "A-Frame Village" is another luxury resort on Sanibel Island. The village is designed in a Spanish colonial style and is constructed of exquisite oak wood. There are two different levels including a premium service level which includes full service saloons, gourmet restaurants, a golf resort shop and premium apartments. The second level consists of a lower level pavilion that has three single bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
