White Fused Alumina (WFA) is obtained from the fusion of high purity calcined alumina in electric arc furnaces. WFA is raw material characterized with high hardness, friable with high purity, chemical stability, a high melting point, and large crystal size.
White Fused Alumina is used in many applications including grinding and cut off wheels, refractories and ceramic shapes, coated abrasives, investment casting shells, laminates, coatings, blasting abrasives, lapping and polishing, and so on.

White fused alumina is manufactured by the fusion of controlled temperatures greater than 2000 degree Celsius followed by a slow solidification process. The cooled crude is further crushed. The crushed crude is the semi-product. Then, the semi-product receives high intensity magnetic treatment to remove virtually all of the magnetic iron present. Air washing is also applied to the semi-product, to ensure the cleanness of the white fused alumina. Finally, the semi-product is sieved and classified into different grain sizes.
