Dev diaries: State of the game

The game is now four years old!

Hello everyone,

In March we shared a roadmap with planned new features. Some of them we have already released in the promised timeframe, some of them we still not. Today we want to tell you the reasons, reveal our higher priorities and what we have for the next updates.

You've already been able to take part in the intrigues of the Marcus's Plane, further transform your character using the «Aspects» feature, participate in new and unique events...

This year we are trying to experiment with «Events». Our goal has been to create activities that will not only expand the story of the universe, but also add new gameplay.

The first of these events will be «Fox Hunt», telling the story of the character Kitsune - by participating in the Battle Pass of this event you can get a new «Ninjato» style and a new set of armor. And at the end of the year, an even more exciting event awaits you, with brand new mechanics and a new fighting style.
We'll tell you about it shortly.

Kitsune

But things don't always go according to plan. During development, a lot of different possibilities and ideas are tried and tested in an attempt to present the most interesting experience for you. When we receive your feedback and suggestions, our plans may change. That's exactly what happened with «Social Mechanics» and «Seasonal Adventures».

«Social Mechanics» - is a new and big feature, divided into several parts, the first of which will be «Raids», which is familiar to our fans from Shadow Fight 2. While similar in key points, they will give you a whole new experience, different from its predecessor.

«Seasonal Adventures» - the end of Shadow Fight 3's main storyline is getting closer and closer. We want to make this moment even more exciting and something you'll remember for a long time, but don't despair and think the story is coming to an end. We're always looking for new and different ways to share the story of the world and the characters living in it. That's what we want to put into the «Seasonal Adventures», which will be available after the end of the main story. We'll also tell you about them a little later, when we're ready.

Future plans

Shadow Fight 3 is now four years old. During that time we've been going straight ahead, trying to provide you with a new and interesting experience, but at the same time, we've often lacked the time to fix old shortcomings and change outdated mechanics. With the end of the main story, we will have that opportunity.

What does this mean? We will start reworking and tweaking the features we already have in the game to create a better and more enjoyable experience at all stages of the game.
The first change will be a reworking mechanics of increasing characteristics from getting cards. We will share more details about it soon.


In conclusion: yes, we can promise something, but in the process we realise that what we promise has less value for the game than the new ideas that come up in the process. Our main goal is to have a dialogue, so you understand what is behind some of the decisions made to develop the game. We want to interact more with you and give you more influence on the future of the game. We will tell you how this will work in our new digest by the end of this month.
